WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING

Our team, represented by Deborah Ball, president of the American Educational Research Association (AERA), and Suzanne Wilson and Carla O’Connor, the program co-chairs for the 2018 Annual Meeting of AERA, is writing to express our greatest appreciation for one of your employees, Adam Gearhart.  As you may know, the Hilton Hotel Midtown was the central hotel for this year’s annual meeting which had more than 17,000 registrants. Pulling off a conference of this size is no easy feat. Problems inevitably arise, last minute requests are not uncommon, and unanticipated needs indubitably emerge.  Adam was our rock and our quiet in this storm of activity.

Adam’s customer service and problem solving skills are exceptional. He readily, effectively, and efficiently figured out how to resolve every issue we brought to his attention.   He was gracious, calm, cool and collective (we never saw him sweat!); and having put a solution into effect, he would follow up with us to make sure that things had proceeded as we intended.  The support we received from him was critical because our central office staff was often far flung and a bit hard to reach throughout the conference. And while we often struggled to reach them, Adam was always accessible and often mystically “appeared” right when we could benefit from his assistance.

Adam also took extraordinary initiative.  He identified conflicts in the directions that had been provided to him from multiple parties and sought to resolve them before members of our central office staff had themselves recognized these conflicts.  He also knew how to make use of and maximize human resources. As such, if he could not reach someone in our organization who was the designated go to for a particular issue, he would identify some other official contact who could provide him with the information or connections that would enable him to resolve the issue at hand.  He was definitely “Mr. Can Do.”

Employees like Adam are rare.  Your organization is more than fortunate to have someone with his poise, skill, and dedication on your staff.  As a face of your organization, he makes your institution look really, really, good! He epitomizes what it means to be in the hospitality business.

In admiration and with deep gratitude,

Deborah Loewenberg Ball, President, AERA

Carla O’Connor, Program Co-Chair, AERA

Suzanne Wilson, Program Co-Chair, AERA

Adam is a true professional - he organized and executed my 40th birthday event with diligence, care for detail and creativity. The event went off extremely well and I know this is large part due to the fact that Adam had all the plates spinning in high gear! I highly recommend Adam for any kind of event large or small, and would be happy to offer a more in depth reference to anyone considering his services.

Bio

Adam Gearhart got his beginning in West Virginia with local Theater groups. From humble beginnings ON the stage, it was what was happening BEHIND the stage that piqued his interest. After graduating from WV Wesleyan College with a BA in Technical Theater: Design & Management, he cut his teeth with the technology-heavy turn & burn of Cruise Ship Entertainment. Being exposed to $1m+ of equipment onboard, Adam decided that it was time to move on from growing savings, to growing a career.

In 2012, Adam arrived in New York City with two months of seed money, two bins of clothes, a full-to-bursting toolbox, and a travel worn laptop. Adam didn't dip his feet into NYC Production, he dove headfirst; straight into Fall Fashion Week. After earning enough from that contract, he made the decision to move in permanently. Luckily, new freelance opportunities were abound, and his career took him to Lighting Technical Direction in New York City Nightlife. It was there he was working alongside networks of great minds and talents.

With years of working on high end projects, from bar mitzvahs to international sporting events, Adam is more than ready for your project!
